XBOX HDD
Guys,
Fitted a new HDD to the Xbox no problems. When I boot with my Evo BIOS enabled it works fine.. However when I try and boot with the standard Msoft BIOS enabled ( to go play on live ) it will not boot to the MSDashboard ( some error message about calling the repair centre )
DO I need to lock the drive !! If so can I do this in the Xbox or do I need to pull it all apart again and lock it in my PC..
Cheers in advance..

Hello mate,
Yes, you need to lock the drive. You can do that in a number of ways, no need to open up the box. Either use the Slayer disc or use something like ConfigMagic Worked fine on my 250Gb Maxtor.
See here (http://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/?p=list) for a list of lockable drives.

Are you running it from HDD or CD-RW ?
If its from HDD, just FTP the files to a new folder in your Apps directory and provided EvolutionX is setup to automatically pickup new programs it will appear in the list of installed Applications.
If its from CD-RW, create an xISO of the files and burn them to a fully formatted CD-RW and boot the disc.
Then . . .
1. Load up Configmagic.
2. A warning screen will be shown, press "A" to bypass it.
3. Select "LOCK HD" from the menu.
4. Select "EXIT CONFIGMAGIC" in the menu.

Thanks Dunk..
Will try the FTP option first, failing that will go the CDRW option, failing that I will get out my old C64 and sack the Xbox...
