Angry Advice on possible premium dialer infection

My dialer starts up after I have been on the net for a while and I think after watching the Watchdog programme on BBC1 I have a problem.
Any advice please?

Check the number that the dialler dials. If you are on an 'anytime' tarrif then look for a freephone number 0800 or 0808 etc. If you see 09xxxx anywhere then you may have inadvertently installed some dialler software.

Even if your dialler is dialling the correct number, it may be that a virus is trying to access the internet. Try spambot, ad-aware and on-line anti-virus scans if you aren't running an up-to-date virus checker.
