ooh G5, what spec? One is still trying to persuade the MD that the tech department needs three top spec Dual G5's, for "testing" purposes. He's not playing ball at the moment though
Need to get the dev team to code some G5 specific bugs into the software
bwahahahaha.

Most likely dual 1.8, I really wanted a dual 2 but I don't think I can stretch to the extra 400 for the sake of an extra .4Ghz and an extra 100Mhz frontside bus ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I've got a dualie 1.8 at work and its plenty quick enough. In fact its bloody mind blowingly fast. My mates Alienware 3.0GHz can't even think about keeping up.
You should tell your MD that there are plenty of differences with the G5's technically, plenty enough to justify getting one anyway
Maybe you could tell him that coding for 64 bit machines is where the moneys at

I think it was moreso, that they've got rooms of PCs. And to justify an IT spend like this, it needs to be a different system to what we've already got.....
But roll on the staff-development 6 months![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
