WTF is a "Data Miner"???????

And do I need worry?

I have Adaware 6 installed, and it keeps finding, then quarantining this :

Vendor: Cydoor, Reg Key Data Miner, HKEY_CURRENT_USER: sof..........

If it's malicious, how can I get rid of it permanently, and stop it coming back, which it seems to do every time I switch on?

i get this as well, but only when i run ad-aware to cheack. dont know what it is myself. i guess somehow you can have ad-aware running all the time. will have a look

cydoor is part of the spyware/adware crap that comes with kazaa

I get it as well and have never installed Kazaa on my machines. I guess its something to do with cookies and ads etc. I have now set up my system to ask on all cookies so I can block those I don't want on my pc which is most of them.
