Weird PC Problem
One of my pc's has developed a really wierd problem and I've tried everything I can think of to solve it with no success.
Basically the sound and gfx refuse to work . In device manager the gfx card says it cant find eniugh free resources (code 12). I've looked into the code and it says to check if the resource is shared with anything else, which it isnt.
the sound says this device failed to start.
I've replaced both sound and GFX with other ones that I know work, from my other PC, but still the same problem.
any help is much appreciated as I dont know where to look next.
PC is 1.4 AMD running XP with 1GB of ram

could try moving the sound card to another slot (if its not an onboard device)
reboot and it will force the pc to look for the drivers.
OR if can't move sound card try reloading the drivers for the sound and the gfx card

Try phsically removing them and then removing the hardware from device manager.
..pop em back in and see if anything changes when windows finds them. Maybe let windows find drivers itself and then update driver if necessary. it might also be worth reinstalling mainboard drivers while the Gfx&sound card are out..

I already tried all the above guys, except reinstalling m/board drivers.
I just cant figure out what the problem could be, I've even changed all the cables in case that was somehow causeing it.
the GFX is a GForce 4 Ti 4800 SE I think and the sound is Hercules 7.1 game theatre.
When I re-install xp it finds both cards but immediatley after reboot the problem returns, all different kinds of drivers have been tried and nothing is overclocked
any more ideas ?

just got in from work and tried what scooby24 said , I dont know what it means or what it does, but its seems to work at first impressions. I'll let you know tommorow after I get everything installed and then try the dreaded reboot.
