contention ratio of either 20:1 OR 50:1! 50:1 does not sound too good but pricing does seem keen. Telefonica are partly owned by BT.

As far as I know, (from when ADSL or broadband was released) the standard home contention ratio was 50:1 and business contention ratio was 20:1. As far as I have heard, this is never changed.

Thats what I thought. 50:1 is pretty standard for residential ADSL.

Think I'll give them a go, if its bad then a 3 month contract isn't too bad. If not then I'm quids in

Cheers for the feedback

Blimey, this migrating business is a nightmare !

CP don't have Freeserve as a Migration partner so I can't migrate. I have to cancel completely and start all over again. That of course means downtime waiting for BT to pull their digital finger out Why do they have to be partners ? I just want to move FFS ! Looks like its going to take over a month to get it sorted as I can't start my cancellation for a few weeks to try and tie in with the new start with CP. Its a joke. And not a funny one at that.

Its a shame that you could not claim that it was a "new" installation?

Thats bascially what I've had to do

The lead time for CP setting up a new account is around 20 working days.
It takes Freeserve 10 days to cancel an account.

So I have to try and make the 2 dates coincide to have as little downtime as possible I'm going to have to make up a date to give CP then phone Freeserve nearer the time to cancel.

Somehow I don't think its going to be so simple . . . .
