Question Dial-Up Internet Connection HELP!

Past:

Click on Internet Explorer, a dial-up box would appear and I would click 'Connect'. This would connect me to the Internet on my home page. No problems ever.

Now:-

Click on Internet Explorer, a different box with 'Work Offline' and 'Connect' appears, I click on 'Connect' and it comes back saying that there is no connection to the internet!?

If I go into the control panel I can connect through there and all is fine .... but whats changed?

How can I put it back how it was?

I know its easy and I'm stupid but HELP!

Pete

Open internet explorer

Tools > Internet Options > Connections
Check that 'always dial my default connection' is ticked...

Yes, thats ticked ..... its as if when I open Internet Explorer it is expecting to see a connection to the internet (when it didnt before it offered me the dial-up box, now it doesn't offer that at all!)

Any other ideas?

Very strange - my PC has just started doing exactly the same thing from this morning

Wonder if it might be something to do with all of the updates MS have been coming out with in the last few days?

DO NOT UPDATE YOUR MSN MESSENGER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, its back to normal - or so it appears!

I LOVE the restore option in XP!!
