Registry - Start up Programs
If i go into Mircosoft System Information on windows 98 and then into software enviroment and then into Startup Programs i have load of programs in there that are junk, not used, pop ups or deleted and it says they are loaded from the registry.
Any idea how i get rid of them ?
Cheers

firstly, download, install, update and then run a copy of ad-aware.
that should kill most of the crap.
then do the same with spyware blaster to stop them from coming back.
Next click start, run , type 'msconfig' and you have the option in there to disable various startup options.
If I were you however, I'd get hold of a copy of RegRun Security Suite. Gives you full control over startup entries. Not free tho.

I think it is an absolute cheek that these software authors assume that we want their software to load on startup. It should be an option.
