Does anybody know if an Apple iBook can be hacked to play DVDs from any region?
Also, can I connect an iBook to the internet wirelessly if I stick an airport card in it, using an existing wireless (802.11g) ADSL modem/router, or do I need to buy the base station?

Yes, it most likely can be made region free. Go here...

An AirPort card is simply a slightly modified and rebranded Lucent Orinoco 802.11b card so you will have no problem connecting to "b" compatible base stations.
