I have got my gran a new puter as her old nail is goosed.

I have bought a usb hard disk caddy ( wanted one anyway so was a good excuse ) to carry over all the docs etc.

I plan to get her HDD , plop it in the caddy and connect into my home machine to virus scan it, its probably riddled.

Not being an AOL user myself, where do I start to look for her inbox etc, and whats the best way of moving them over to the new pc? also, will Norton AV be able to pick up any dodgy emails when I scan the drive?

cheers,

mike.

AOL e-mail is stored remotely, not on the HDD

If she has saved any mail to her personal filing cabinet, it will be in:

C:\Program Files\AOL 7.0 (or 8.0)\Organise

Yeap use AOL 8
AFAIK all emails are checked before you get them for viruses
Might be worth setting up some AV software though
