My workload is getting quite varied, so I think it's time to get a PDA.

I want a colour, shirt pocket friendly weighted pda with quick handwriting recognition, screen written notes that can be 'recognised' into a field or notepad type doc and that will take a 256meg card so later on I can put a few mp3s/etc on it.

I don't care about wireless, bluetooth, gprs, cameras, etc as long as it has a usb connection to my PCs.

What do you think is the best pda that *meets* these requirements. Even better if it were around £200 or less.

Well the axim performance looks just the job.

I like the sony as well, but I'll be able to code apps for the dell (I've written a crossword/anagram/scrabble solver that's itching to go onto a pda for train commuters!).

Can anyone beat Dell's price of £232 inc delivery and vat?

On the Dell website they were selling the X5 for £177 incl VAT and Del. Otherwise try searching on EBAY. I've seen some from the States for £106 buy it now price.
