The PS2 can be very fussy when it comes to keyboards...
I initially tried a PS/2 keyboard with a USB convertor and it did not work.. In the end I bought a dedicated USB Cherry keyboard for £18 and it works a treat...

Got some thing similar with our MS rodents but they're USB --> PS/2
