Highly recommended!!!
I've been playing it for about 3 hours so far and I love it!
'Normal' cars and 'proper' modifications available including neons!!
Oh well, back to the track/street!

Pete,
You best not get Need For Speed Underground!
The music and the tasteless modifications will only encourage you to write a "Why oh Why oh Why" letter to the SISI Monthly magazine!!!

Played the demo on the PC and it was pants. Although to be fair a few peeps have said the demo doesnt do the full game justice.
Might get it next after I finish Max Payne 2.
Simon.

I personally don't like playing games like that on a PC!!!
If I want arcade-type games, I play them on the consoles! They seem right on them!
Playing stuff like Doom, Unreal, Quake, etc is just plain wrong on a console!

i tried the demo on the pc and that was really rubbish
played the ps2 version on my mates in car system and it was soo much better
my bird is going away for chrimbo so last nite we opend our presants and she had bought it for the ps2 for me
got in about 11pm
stright on and was getting tired by 3am
woke up and got stright back on it
very arcadey, but once you start getting the car tuned up the races get a bit "**** me ish"
actualy only came on the net to check out the ps2 online adapter prices
played the pc demo on the net and it was a good laff

Got the PC version today. On a decent PC it blows the PS2 version into the weeds.
Feels very much like a mix of GT2 (PS1) and Driver (PS1) but with much better graphics.
Cheers

whey hey its an Xmas Day genuine Thread Hijacking, 1st i seen today
sure andy wont mind........hes prob to busy playin NFSU
yep the genuine pad connects to the usb port of my via a simple and very very cheap/good value connector which will take 1 or 2 PS2 pads....
see here....
http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=s...C&title=114167
not used it masses yet only got it couple weeks back........there are issues with NFSU - u seem to have to do a bit of a reg tweak for it to work properly with the side affect that vibration dont work
but sure patches etc will sort this soon. works kewl with CMR3.
seen lots threads about it and the only prob game atm i can remember is NFSU.
i've also tried it with the PES3 demo and i am now v v tempted to get PES3 for PC and not the PS2
would highly recommend it, esp at the price
for NFSU the consensus seems to be to NOT install the supplied drivers.....i already had !
----------------
ok and now i'll pass to you all back to the original thread, sorry for the temporary interruption we have experienced in the last couple of posts.........
xmas glitch folks....

ok, well i'm on about 73 just now and getting rather cheesed off with it tbh. the money in the bank is getting lager(i'm on 55k just now) and nothing to spend it on!!! i've bought all the available mods and i'm using the eclipse. all visual mods are on too. but where do i go. evey time i finish a race, it's either got no extra mods as a result, little pointless mods(doesn't up the style gauge thingy) or it's another car which is hardly better than the one i'm running just now!
feckin tedeious game innit?

i think once you get past 72 (i was stuck on this one for the past 2 days and was sick) lol it starts getitng a touch harder
the skylines unlocked on about 80
try trading the car in for sumthing else, i had to get shot of the scooby as it was slideing to much and putting me into other traffic
when u click on a car to "trade" it will let you check the stats between the 2 cars
i was suprised to see such diffrences, if you just "look" at the car and dont click to trade it says the stats are all the same
the mx5 is actualy faster then the scooby
the acura RSX is a good choice as well
i got stuck on one drag race where i kept blowing my engine, never relised its got 6 gears
acura has massive top speed potential, and FWD handleing is a lot easier to handle on sum of the tracks with heavy traffic (how many tank slappers did i do with the scooby)
aperntly when u win the last race, whichever car you have selected, gets a widearch kit
hopeing to pick up a online adapter for the ps2 tomorow, should set up sum scoobynet drag racing (harvey wont win these ones )

Also noticed that oncoming traffic always seems to be on the line that you have commited to. I.e. you are full throttle, fully turned in over blind crest and doing 130+. Up over crest there is the van crossing. You have the choice of taking out the van or getting off your line and hitting a wall etc.
Also noticed now I'm up around race 80 that cars are now deliberately trying to put me into the wall. I.e. one car will take on the role of being spoiler and goes hell bent to take me out during braking, cornering, threading-eye-of-needle-tunnel-stuff.
Gets the blood flowing
Cheers
