We finally get broadband here on February 18th.
I run my business from home, with myself and my partner here, and a third director to works externally (from a fixed location).
I am guessing my best bet is to set up a server, which will act as file and mail server and firewall, connector that to the broadband and then use these new high-speed wireless broadband routers to talk to the other two desktop PCs, and the laptop?
Also, anybody have any recommendations regarding broadband ISP's???
I've had a good look on the Web and in the magazines, but there is nothing to be real-life experience from people who use them.

Hi I have this setup at home, on my Compaq server I am running Microsoft Small Business Server 2000. This provide the OS, Exchange 2000 for the mail server, ISA Server for proxy and firewall and SQL Server 2000 database. The server is multi homed (2 Network cards) one is internal private IP address and the other external with public IP address. connected to the external NIC is a 4 port 10/100 hub, this hub is connected to both my XBox and the ADSL router. The internal card is connected to an 8 port 10/100 hub and connected to this are all the desktop PC's and the wireless access point. This is a very good solution and i can highly recomment Nildram for broadband www.nildram.co.uk
Enjoy

Nick - great, presumably i can just replace those hubs with wireless?
So my external director will be able to access files on the server using the external IP?
Tony - games are my job!! Its R&D!

Yep just put the ADSL router into the external network card and the WAP on the internal side and that should be fine. Remember to setup a good security if your external director is connecting remotly over the web so he is not sending NT logins as clear text
