Question

I am gonna finally use my personal webspace to host a few pics.
Should I use a program like CuteFTP or can I use Microsoft Frontpage which I already have installed?

dreamweaver mx has it's own ftp client if you are doing web stuff.

...or FileZilla (open source) is good.

I won't be creating any webpages etc. All I want to do is use the webspace to put some pics & vids up, if that helps.

use ftp://<your ftp address>

Easiest way is to go to My Network Places and add the site as a new network place.

Cheers Jack

Right then I can now access my blueyonder personal web space. I have sent a pic to it & it works fine but how do I allow others to view the pic in my image folder without needing a password & still keeping my personal folder password protected

Cheers, Darren

Daz i you look on your web host settings they'll be on for your ftp (uploading files) and one for your webpage (http://) for instance mine is

ftp://uploads.ntlworld.com

and

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mr.cookie

so if i upload an image called si.jpg to my ftp the address for it would be

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mr.cookie/si.jpg

Si

I have done this but when I put the address in I get the 404 Not Found error.
If I put the address in for the Image folder instead I get a 403 Forbidden error instead
