The DVD is the original, but when I play through RegionX, is says that "the parental level of the player has been set. Press "yes" to continue."
It gives me the option to click "yes" or "stop".
So, I press "yes" and the DVD spins to the usual warning page about piracy.
And stops.
Any ideas?
Dan
Oh, and Mods, I'm NOT using pirated DVDs. Just wanted to watch a movie

Don't think it's RCE.
Just played the same DVD in my Toshiba SD100e (non RCE), DVDRom (PC) and my £35 bargain Akura DVD player.
Plays on everything but the XBox
Yes, I know I can play it on the others, but it would be a pain in the a$$ to unplug of the DVDs to take upstairs (where the XBox is).....
Any further ideas? - Is there a hidden parental control on the XBox (chipped with EvoX)
Cheers,
Dan

Not something I've dabbled with, but the XBox does have a parental lock feature.
IIRC if you go to the original MS Dash and choose Settings, Parental Control. You can then switch it off here. If you've forgotten the code then enter : X, Y, Left Trigger, X. You'll be taken to the parental controls screen where you can disable the passcode previously entered.
Worth a go

Hmmm, it would seem that PAL XBoxes do not have the Parental Control option.
You could always change the region of your drive using ConfigMagic and not have to use DVDx ?
Or try this

Ok. Taking on board the whole thing about PAL/NTSC etc, I thought I'd experiment. I've backed up the disk using DVDShrink3.
Using the option to make the R1 disk multi-region. Still no joy
So I've got an original and a backup disk. Both do the same thing!!!
Crazy!!

Yeh I can do that, but it's a pain to disconnect from downstairs and bring it all upstairs..... as I said in my initial post
Plus thefact that the XBox is multiregion. The DVD plays on everything else. But not this. WHY?
