Pop-ups
#1
This morning I am afflicted with pop-ups every time I look at scoobynet...though other sites seem unaffected. Is this a new feature or am I plagued by spyware? Any help appreciated as it's annoying.

Unlikely to be Windows Messenger, more likely to be the Messenger Service (net send).
If you have no need for this service (it is normally used by network administrators to send a message to all users) then you can stop and disable it in Services.
The fact that you are receiving Messenger pop-ups shows that you do not have a firewall installed, which leaves your PC vulnerable to other types of attack too.
