IBM Thinkpad Error on boot
#1
I have a drama with my IBM thinkpad and wondered if anyone could help. When I try booting the machine up, the internal screen doesn't seem to work. If I connect to an external monitor and boot it, it takes ages to boot, stops and returns in a dos window, before windows boots :-
Error
Fan error
Press (F1) to setup.
Obviously there isn't anything in the setup / bios that helps me. Removed the battery, etc. I can't seem to make it boot further than this
HELP.....

Diagnostic boot, etc turns up nothing. Won't get past the Bios Remove the H/D and use another still the same, so obviously a mother board drama....
So how the **** do I look at the fan, when I boot the laptop you can here the fan running flat out. Didn't do that before. Would boot and the fan was fast, then you'd hear it slow down. Would like to stop the fan error and just boot the bloody thing, then pull all the data off to my LAN
Thanks Phill
