We are having problems with a conection on one of the servers at work to the internet. We are currently working on the problem, in the meantime is their any program or service that can monitor the connection and email me (or send me a text would be even better) if the internet connection goes down on the server.

Google search on 'monitor internet connection state' brings up quite a lot of dedicated software.

what type of connection is it?

Its using an ADSL modem

it's probable that some of those apps will allow auto reconnect to the net when the connection fails.

If you can't find a free one, let me know - I just found a connection monitor I wrote a while back. I'd just need to plug in the auto connect function for you. it's only an api.
