My kids have installed something which messes up the keyboard randomly.
Where are the files/config for the startup/background processes on XP so I can see what runs at startup ?
Cheers, Mark.

Do this at your own risk LOL!
Go to a run command and type "regedit" and hit enter then navigate down the tree to the following key: -
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run
This will contain the programs configured to run at startup

using msconfig is safer than editing the registry, as you can simply switch on and off what you dont want to start up, the problem is there isnt a big sign on everything telling you what it is, so
start>run
msconfig
click startup tab, remove from list what you dont want to startup, then restart, control panel>add and remove programs> delete any stuff you dont want
