"Out of office" replies.....
I've often wondered...
If you have Auto-Reply set up and you get an e-mail from someone who also has an Auto-Reply set up, why do you not get hundreds of messages bouncing backwards and forwards between them as they both auto-reply to each others auto-replies...?

Nimbus,
Outlook (though Exchange anyway) will only reply to any one person once. So if person A is on hols and person B sends them 2 e-mails. Person B will only get one 'out of office' reply.
Not sure how it works without Exchange though.

I've seen that happen on some mailing lists.
Person goes on holiday and sets OOF.
Message to mailing list goes to person with OOF.
OOF replies to list saying I'm OOF.
List gets message saying I'm OOF and sends it to member with OOF turned on.
That member's OOF replies to the OOF.
Cue one mailing list melt down

And you end up with a server that is very, very sick. Like our old Exchange box in Caracas 3/4 years ago..... No diskspace left and an IS that refused to start. Ugh.
