Bloke here at work has a software application for an ipaq that was
developed using embedded Visual Basic for an ipaq that has windows CE environment.
He's been told that ew ipaq's now come with CE .net as an operating environment. He's tried his CE developed application
on a new ipaq (ce .net) and he says that it doesn't work.
Bit strange really I thought that there would have to
be some backwards compatibility ... anybody know anything that
could help?
I know very little about ipaqs. Might it just be the case to recompile the project in the CE .net development environment or are there project options in Microsoft eMbedded VB 3.0 that he can try?
Any help much appreciated.

He ... I'm only passing messages on .. I know very little about developing apps for the ipaq.
The project has been developed with eMbedded Visual Basic 3.0.
I don't even know how or what I need to transfer this to a ipaq to even test it out.
What I'm assuming he needs to do is get the development environment for ce .net. Open the existing CE app in the CE.net development kit and recompile it ..... or development a new app using the CE.net SDK copying the existing code/files?
How does this sound or am I speaking p**h?
Even some general help how it hangs together in basic speak would be helpful for me.
