Slow network access on XP
#1
Hi
My office desktop is a Dell Dimension running XP Professional Service pack 1 connected to our NT4 file server. If I try and browse a volume that I haven't been into for a short time, the thing just stalls and takes 30 or more seconds before showing me the contents. It's like the networks gone to sleep or that it's scanning the volume contents. I've turned off all the power saving options that I can find and am pretty sure that the PC is virus free.
Any ideas much appreciated.
