I thought the windows might need upgrades but then it said thet no critical upgrades were needed, and when I try to download the normal upgrades it just crashes,
The main problem is that I have to turn the pc off by the plug which is obviously no good, when I try to disconnect or log off or turn the computer off it just freezes up, I've had the broadband for about 10 days now and I'm sure I'm going to bugger the thing up by turning off by the plug all the time-HELP
Cheers Mike.

Have a look for new drivers for whatever modem you're using. Do you know what modem you have?

Note: Windows Update does not always have the latest hardware drivers. Sometimes you have to go hunting on the web for these.

Do you have windows? If so, click on this link

**Double check this is the right modem though**

Double Click the Zip file (on the desktop that you downloaded) to see what is inside the ZIP archive. I'm not sure how your PC will handle ZIP files. But you can try either extracting all the files in the ZIP to somewhere safe (eg, c:\my modem driver) then double click the SETUP.EXE file or just double-click the SETUP.EXE file and see if that works.

A nice program for handling ZIP files is WinZIP (www.winzip.com)

Regards
James

Oh well - sorry it didn't work out. Do an uninstall, restart computer, reinstall of the CD and then a final restart and see what happens.
