Talking

I've lost the display in the bottom left hand corner of the screen that shows you the URL when you pass the mouse over a hyperlink....

How do I get it back?

Cheers

Dan

BTW, it's a known bug that the status bar is not visible in the second or later IE window opened in any session, so don't be surprised if it vanishes again

Solution here

IE is, IMHO, a buggy insecure heap of festering poo. Plus the page above has a picture of an STI on it, so it is the de facto choice of browser for scoobynet. No ifs, no buts. (admittedly, I could be stretching the moderator powers here )
Cheers,
Nick.

LOL, yeah, Firebird is absolutely 'kin great. It's a small download, it's very fast, there's no exploits yet (only a question of time probably, but it will be patched *very* fast), by default it blocks popups, blocks tracking cookies... It supports tabbed browsing, has a google search on the toolbar (not google toolbar spyware stuff) and is generally fast, light and wonderful. The designers have actually thought about usability, so shortcut keys are provided for the obvious things (such as go to address bar) and niceties (such as go to google search box on the toolbar)

The tabbed browsing is so useful, everyone should be using it . I really really rate it as a browser to the point that if I could get rid of IE totally and utterly from the system, I would.

Do try it out, you might like it. If you need a mail client etc, download Thunderbird but be aware that that's still in the early stages of development.

Firebird rocks
Nick.
