BT Broadband - do you need to advise a MAC address ?
#1
From a home user's point of view I know Blueyonder have a policy of limiting a persons's broadband access to only those physical addresses which I've supplied to them. eg. tonight if I changed my lan card and plugged in blueyonder it wouldn't work cos I haven't told them about my new lan cards physical address.
My question is, does BT OpenWorld Broadband operate the same policy ?
I ask, as I was trying to get a friend's new DLINK DSL 300G+ ETHERNET modem to work on his PC - with no joy. He formerly used an alcatel USB modem but wanted a wireless hub setting up. As an aside, I think the problem probably lies with a dodgy firmware release resulting in the DHCP scope being setup incorrectly but I thought I'd ask for clarification on the BT Openworld policy.
Thanks in advance
