Hi Guys,

What is the advantage of having a TFT screen with a digital (DVI) input, against one that is analogue (assuming I have a digital & analogue capable graphics card)?

Cheers,
Shaun.

no conversion of the picture to analogue from digital, so it SHOULD be sharper.. however current video cards are so good at doing the conversion you probably won't really notice it...

That is exactly what I thought, but looking at both a DVI Vs Analogue at work (with the resolution set to max - 1280 x 1024, the image was as clear on both output types (which was pin sharp).

Regards,
Shaun.

I also presume its more for gamers to increase the speed??

As I suppose converting d/a/a/d must take some time

With serious framerates being thrown at a TFT you will notice a difference between digital and analogue.

i have to say though I'm yet to see a TFT screen that doesn't 'ghost' when playing fast paced games. I've been seriously tempted in the past but I'm gonna hold out for the next gen. of TFT's (next year i think) which apparently are going to be miles better than the current stuff available.
