Hi Chris. Although not free I have Net Nanny installed on my kids computers.

It works in either black list or white list modes, with regular balck list updates available.

It also allows you to block chat room access, etc.

Zanlin

PS and it has time blocks available, so they can't sneak onto it in the middle of the night. . .

Try saying that when you're drunk

Just got my sister enabled on broadband and installed all the usual firewalls / anti virus etc. She would like to use some form of software to control kids access to the Internet. Any recommendations? If it is freeware all the better.

Thanks
Chris

FilterPak is an Internet filter and reporting program. It works with any ISP, including AOL, Cable, and DSL. Works with URL lists and with intelligent keywords. Reporting feature allows parents to monitor what each user is viewing. It has 24 categories of filtering for each member of the family. Cannot be turned off or disabled except by the administrator. Operates in the background of the system, much like a virus protection program. FilterPak not only has the features of client side software like SurfWatch, Cyber Patrol, CyberSitter, Net Nanny, Cyber Snoop, MSN content Filter, and AOL Parental Controls but also server-side products such as Bess, N2H2, and Web Sense.
