manually submit to search engines???? forgot auto-submitters.
Create 'door-way' pages, each one has a specific keyword and/or phrase (dont repeat keywords) and each one points to your home page, then submit them to search engines as well. You can get software that will build these for you.

I use Dynamic Submission (www.apexpacific.com).
Not very inventive, but it submits to most search engines.
