Question

Hi

I have a whole load of files (couple of thou!) that I need to insert a couple of characters to the begining of each file name.
eg
file1.jpg
file2.jpg

Becomes
eefile1.jpg
eefile2.jpg

Anyone know of any script or software which could do this?

Thanks

Talking

Post DOS - ROTF

So who else remembers trying to get a user to follow seemingly simple commands

ME - OK... Type 'Type config.sys'

User - What? Type type?

Yep - type the word type followed by config.sys

rattle rattle rattle

Nope - It isn't working

Is it giving you a message?

Yep - Bad command or filename

OK - What exactly did you type?

I typed 'type type config.sys'

NO NO NO NO - Just put in type once. Does that work?

erm.... Nope

Tell you what - Leave it and I'll come down and have a look

Visit user to find the words 'type configdotsys'

Faaaaaakkk

I was so happy when we got Win95

Puff, I used your command and this does not work! It does NOT insert "ee", it replaces the files first two characters!

Download Flash Renamer, works a treat.

Also download Better File Renamer, looks like it would work, but it is trail verision and would only do 10 or so files.

Thanks for all the help anyway.
