I have an AGP card (Geforce 3) and was wondering if I could put a pci card in as well to run another monitor as I have a spare 19 inch CRT lurking.

Should work without problems. In the past I've had an AGP card and two PCI cards in one of my machines.

Would suggest only doing it on XP or 2000 at a push though as others can become a pain to set up.

Also note that some applications don't work properly on second monitors when used on the second card. I.e. stuff like TV cards, some video players etc as the hardware overlay used only works on primary monitors unless the software has been specifically writen in support of secondary monitors.

Suck it and see is the best plan.

Cheers
