ok dont really want to spend any more than say 70 quid, want one for me laptop, never used one before, do the come with software etc?
are they easy to use?

Used quite a few at work, best steering clear of cheaper brands like Freecom. We only buy Lacie now.
Their budget model is in your range. I'd recommend going for a DVD-RW though, you'll only wish you had later. I'm going for this one.

Yes, and the Lacie is the only (AFAIK) one which bundles in it's own DVD authoring software. Otherwise you'll need Nero (I think, don't do PC's) if you're PC or Toast on Mac.
