Chris, I believe it's downloadable. Not sure if it's open source or not, but it's got quite a community following

heres a thought. after doing my first trackday yesterday i have come up with the following suggestion.
How about a trackday game ?
It would have all the UK tracks & say the nurburgring + all the usual trackday (road going) cars ie scoobies, evo's, cossies, westies etc etc.
just all the different scoobies would do me
if the tracks were identical to the real ones (ie silverstone, brands, donny, knockhill etc etc) and the cars drove and handled as per the real ones wouldnt this be great as a practise prior to going on the track in whatever car ? maybe even have the option to mod the car as well.
I suppose it would be a UK version of Gran Turismo...but better

You can add your own tracks and cars and is supposed to be quite good by all accounts
