program to monitor cpu temperature

are there any programmes to monitor cpu temp
The only way i know is through the bios which is inconvenient
Its a nforce motherboard with a AMD xp cpu

why use a program.???

I have a dual temp guage fitted in one of my spare CD drive bays and attatch a wire to the cpu..other one i've attatched to GFX Card

..........as the program can read the temps from the diode located inside the socket and give a more accurate temp reading and also read other sensors located around the motherboard giving ambient temp northbridge etc.
