God! and to think I used to be in I.T..

Here goes - My brothers laptop was split between two drives (C&D) with Win98 running on C and Office running on D. He wanted on drive as C was quite full and was slowing things down.

O.K, I de-installed office and ran FDISK, it asked me if I wanted to enable support for drives larger than 2gb which I said 'Yes'. However once I deleted drive D, it was only left me with the same size C drive (1.51gb) D drive was 1.37 how can I make one big C drive without having to get rid of drive C and re-installing Windows..

Help...Please...

you can't using FDisk. This utility creates and deletes partitions it doesn't extend them.

What you need is something like Partition Magic to merge the free space into the existing drive C:

Or back it up, delete and re-create a big drive C:

Cheers Ozzy,

Thought so, what a bummer, I don't like the likes of Partition Magic etc so I'll set it up from scratch and least it will be a clean install.
