Got loads of old files that I password protected a long time ago and for the life of me cant remember the passwords. Any idea if its possible to crack them and if so, how?
Thanks,
Simon.

Sometimes possible to open with notepad - although there will be plenty of formatting information there, the content
should be visible! (I hope!)

Cheers Andy. Have started it of, although not sure if it will work though as all it appears to do is search for strings rather than actually hack the file. And its the trial version which only checks first 5 characters of password.

With Excel you can try this....
Just save as another name and sometimes it looses the password protection (sometimes)
