Is there anyone who will go one on one with me to try and sort out my little home network?

It does function nicely, I know because I've had it running. Then I lost my hard drive and had to start again with my computer, now pcs on the LAN won't talk to each other.

to ipconfig click start -> run then type cmd (enter)
in box that opens type ipconfig /all.

have you allowed access to i.p in firewall, try disabling firewall briefly and see if that works.

You have shared the drive/folders?

Created a user account on each machine with the credentials of the other?

second pc.. laptop is on a different subnet..

try an ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

on the second..

I can browse theinternet via crossover cable (on the laptop), just can't semm to share anything between the two.
(desktop is host)
