ok...ive done the whole online job site, newspaper and agency thing and i am well and truly stuck. Last resort i thought id see if there were any ScoobyNetters that could help me out.

Seeing as i now have to stay in Cambridge, i am stuck in a job i love in a company i hate with no visible signs of other jobs out there in this area.

Therefore I was just wondering if anyone on here has or knows of any Software Testing roles in the Cambridgeshire area??

I know its a long shot..but its worth a try. i have to get out of this place ASAP before i have a heartattack from stress!!!

I am getting kinda desperate now

ps. im kinda guessing that this will go to at least page 3 in 30 minutes....and counting.

Have you looked on www.jobserve.co.uk?

Register for their jobs by e-mail service and you will get any automatically.

Also it may be worth doing some research on the companies local to you and then just sending your CV to the IT or HR manager.

Good luck.

Jason.

Don't waste much of your time writing to companies since they mostly use agencies now.

Jobserve, Jobsite, Monster, PlanetRecruit, TheITJobboard are all top notch sites to look up.

Hays IT
Spring
Elan IT
Computer People
Computer Futures
Abraxus
Best International

are the usual big agencies to try who get good contracts/ perm work in.

And if you have a few years under the belt, go contracting. You may not look back
Lot's going about just now for the Royal Bank/ NatWest and BoS/Halifax mergers, although not sure about your specific locale.

Hi,

I work for a company called RDF Group based just outside Edinburgh. We hire Developers and Testers for BskyB contracts.

We have our Head Office in Brighton, but our sister company Aristotle (used to be called Eurolink) have offices throughout the country if you don't fancy re-locating to the South Coast or Scotland.

Stefan

How far are you willing to travel????

I run a test team in hertfordshire for a huge international company.... although no vacancies at the mo - we are awaiting some contracts to be signed..... and if they come about then we will probably need people. What is your skill set ?? why not send me your CV and if anything comes up and you fit the role i can always contact you (HR can keep your cv on file - just incase)

Sorry can't be of anymore help just at the moment - but who knows

Cheers
Nick

If you are still looking, drop me your CV.

We do software development, but one of our partner companies is an IT testing consultancy. I can forward your CV to them to see if theres anything suitable.....

cheers,
Dave

Devil's Advocate,

Sorry not been watching this thread since I posted I'm not sure to be honest. Testers and Developers seem to be more in demand (on the Sky contract anyway).

If you're looking for something in Scotland, then send me your CV (or at least tell me what type of work you're looking for and in what areas). We have 3 guys here who are in charge of different projects/contracts, so I'll happily pass on your details.

The Sky contractors are all based here in Livingston, but all the others are placements in client sites (Railtrack, Scottish Widow, etc..)

E-mail me @ sostadal@rdf-consulting.co.uk

Cheers,
Stefan

How far are you prepared to travel? There are a load of testing jobs going in Ipswich (about an hour away from Cambridge).
