Question

Chaps

Can anyone recommend some free software which will mask a corporate IP address?

Cheers

Taking a guess at what you are refering to here is not been seen as the the IP address your company is seen on the Internet when browsing etc.

This isn't possible as you are not actually able to control this as the corporate firewall will be NAT'ing all the internal IP addresses based on a ruleset.

If you're concerned that your might leave some tracks, best thing to use is a proxy avoidance system - not completely safe but most proxy avoidance systems don't keep logs of usage.

Thumbs up

OK - should have explained myself better. Quite a few of our competitors will block access to their website, I presume, by recognising my company's IP address. I know I can get round it by surfing from home but I don't want to have to do research in the evening when I should be out getting pi$$ed or going down the gym.

Is there anything I can put on my laptop to make myself, or the port I go to the outside world on, anonymous?

Cheers

Go through an external 'anonymous' proxy.

many proxy lists out on the internet. It looks like you are actually originating from the proxy, not your own PC / network.
