Question

Can anyone recomend a good file-sharing program as I am fed up with Kazaalite as it's so full of rubbish and viruses?

I just started using e-donkey, you can either search for stuff through e donkey, or go to www.sharereactor.com, this is a website that searches all the p2p networks. when you find what you want with sharereactor, click a link and it will drop the info into e-donkey and start downloading it.

I takes a bit of faffing about if you use a router though, other than than it seems very good.

Try Direct Connect.
I've ditched Kazaa for it as there's less chance of getting fakes from there.
Superb P2P.

I just installed DC - you need about 300 megagigs before you can even get in the hubs

Suppose I could just fill a drive with crap & share that.

You can get away with sharing a min of 5Gb usually.
Opening up your HDD will probably get close to that if not more.

Don't bother if you're using dial-up though (believe me, I've seen people use Kazaa and DC over the phoneline )

Hello

What's wrong with Kazzalite V2.02? I use it and it seems okay? If you want this version let me know.

I have recently downloaded Direct Connect from Neo-Modus and that is pretty good as well.

Thats the version that I have - kazaa is just poo now (IMHO)
It used to be really good, but as I said, now it's all viruses and people renaming files and being generally cr@p. I went though a phase of renaming files back to what they should be etc. but there is no way I am gonna make a difference with several million idiots changing them back the other way! I want something more reliable now.

Well, after arsing about all evening i found.........

edonkey finds loads of stuff and is fast but like kazaa, most is sh!te.

Diret connection - totally confused me and I still have no idea what to do with it (I share 11 gig of music and connected to a server but could not do anything else!)

Suprnova (bit torrent) so far the best - good stuff easy to use and so far pretty fast (went up to 120kb/s for a while)

I will continue my mission tommorrow after work - as far as tonight goes, suprnova is busy downloading

Direct Connect.

Open up Public Folder which will give you a list of servers.
Most list min reqs needed (eg 5Gb share)
Double click to log onto that server then use the search bar.
Click on desired item and hit download.
Check to the right of the item first to see if there's available 'lines' for you to use though.
A figure of 0/x means there's none available and you'll be queued.

Have fun.

Also, check out Tesla for P2P, although I've not had much success with it.
