'script error' box keeps appearing and pages dont open fully?

as title, my internet is playing up.
i keep getting a grey box pop up when opening web pages (all), saying 'script error' etc.
the error is listed as 'error opening DLL'
also, when i got to shut down my computer, it wont, so i 'control,alt,delete' to get the end task menu up, and a folder along the lines of 'rundll32' is still running, go to end task and it wont, so i have to just turn the thing off manually.
searched for virus using 'symantec' site, none found.
any ideas?

A little more info is needed sript error could be due to problem with IE dll problem with OS. Please give info on version of internet exp and windows...
