Fig, is this XP ??
Short answer is fraid i dont know matey.
Is it always the same cd ?? or any.
Do you have this service : Creative Service for CDROM Access.
If you have Disc Detector enabled, set this to Manual.
Not having XP myself, im a bit in the dark.

On that list of options there will be an choice that says something like "do not do anything" Select that and then tick that box that says "Always do the selected action" and click ok.
This will never plague you again, hopefully . I don't have XP in front of me at the moment as I am at work (2000) but if it still comes up and someone else has not already solved this for you, I'll have a look tonight.

Yes it's XP Pro and it happens (almost) every time I insert any CD. since asking the Q, been having a fiddle
Disabling Creative Service for CD Rom Access didn't solve it, but I found some autoplay rules for different content type in the drive properties. One of the options (was on) was to prompt for an action each time. I selected "take no action" to all types and the pop-up disappeared (logical I suppose). Now I know how to change things I will probably set up specific actions for certain content type.
Thanks for the help
