I use dvdshrink and Nero.Dvdshrink is freeware.

1.Open dvd in dvdshrink.
2.Click reauthor.
3.Grab the largest file
4.If more than 4.3gb reencode,if not burn using Nero.

You end up with the film only,no extra's,but the best quality all on one disc. You really cant tell the difference, and best of all,its so simple.

I've just backed up a copy of 25th hour. I used this guide:

http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/userguides/141024.php#dvd9

for ripping a dual layered dvd onto 1 dvd. Worked fine and I didnt notice any loss in quality

http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdripping - has all the guides you'll need.
