hello all,

Just need some help setting up a home network.

I'm using a desktop PC connected via Openworld Broadband (USB modem) and want to connect my laptop to the PC to share the Internet connection, and transfer my MP3 collection from PC to Laptop.

I've connected the computers via an ethernet hub, run the Connection Wizard on the desktop (made a Wizard disk), I then ran the disk on the laptop, the laptop Wizard seemed to find the shared connection from the desktop PC.

I can 'see' the domain OK on both PC's but if I double click on the 'other' computer on the domain screen it says it is 'not accessable, might not have permission' and that the 'network path isn't found'...

The shared connection doesn't work either...

Anyone offer any assistance?

big thanks
Ian

running Zone Alarm on desktop (now off for time being), also was running XP firewall on (now off)...

Just trying out...

Right - filesharing works, not having 'permssions' message, but still no Internet access - just times out..
