Tried installing a util that ive used before and get an error message -

Windows Installer
The windows installer service cannot be accessed. This can occur if you are running in safe mode, or if the windows installer in not correctly installed.

Any ideas?
Cheers

Are you using an administrators account (or running the installer as administrator)?

Check services, normally the Windows Installer is set to Manual and only started when a program needs it. If it is disabled then you can get that error message.

If it is not started and already set for manual start up. Start it and see if its alright.

sorted, had to make sure the msi directory was right in regedit and then register it in safe mode and re-boot.
