Hey all, I want to put some video footage onto my PC so I can disk it as VCD,MPEG or the like.
I have a Sony digital cam corder and I'm presuming I need some sort of TV card and editing software??
Any recomendations on either or?
Many thanks.

I use a hauppauge tv/video card, simply link the CC & card up with a S-Video cable.
Card comes with video capture software.
It was about 100 notes 4 years ago, they are probably a lot beter now!

If it's a recentish one, check for DV out aka Firewire, if it has it get yourself a firewire card (assuming your PC doesn't already have it) and a firewire lead to connect them together (probably 6 to 4 pin). You should then be able to capture in digital perfection
If you don't have firewire you're probably looking at any number of cards that'll capture S-VHS, the hauppage wintv range most likely.
