anyone recommend any good reads (faq's / articles) on setting up ssh (tunneling) and/or vpn from a windows lan to a windows PC via the internet? and security issues arising from it?

Plenty of stuff on google - depends what you want to do ... I use it mostly for getting X back from machines with no graphics cards...
