i am having problems using opengl in Xp. when i try to play games such as Half life, Quake 3, and Unreal Tournament 2003, it crashes a few seconds into the game opening. i had windows 98 before this, and it played them fine, very smoothley. but xp seems to want to crash each time, even when not played in full screen. i thought i might be windows, so i formatted my whole PC, making backups obviously, but the problem still persists even after reinstalling xp, i downloaded the updates of the microsoft web site, and got my most recent drivers (Nvidia Geforce 4). but still i have the same problem, can anyone tell me how i can get around this? as i dont want to have 98 installed again.

Have you tried setting the compatibility settings for the various games? Right click on <game>.exe select properties, compatibility tab and then change the compatibility mode setting to 'Windows 98'. Not sure if it'll work but it's worth a try!
