Where can I buy a legit copy of Office (2000)

XP is £350+ and I cannae afford that since I've got 'works' although that's not up to the job I want it to do.
I've got a *ahem* copy of Office95 but need later versions as it cannot open 1/2 the docs I may get sent.
Ideally I'd like to buy a proper copy of Office2000 and assume it'll be a lot cheaper than Office XP (I've got windows XP BTW).

If you are a teacher or student in full time education, (or partner /kids) you can get a copy of office XP at PC world for around £100. They dont ask to see proof or anything and no need to send off for the software from MS either.

I'd happily pay £100.
Tried to install my dads copy of Office XP but it needs to be 'activated' online or by phone so I uninstalled (darn thing removed word which was legit but was preloaded so no disks [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img])

Yep, I bought Girlfriend a copy from PC world (teacher)expecting to be asked for proof, didnt get asked for anything. The only stipulation is when you activate it you are asked to confirm that you are either student or teacher as bellow.
*Important Note: Microsoft Office XP Standard for Students and Teachers is for qualifying students, parents/guardians or teachers only.
Student: must be enrolled on a full-time or part-time basis in a school, college or university, which is recognised by the applicable government agency.
Parent/Guardian: have children in the above category and wish to purchase on their behalf for their educational use.
Teacher: employed full-time or part-time to teach within any such school, college or university as above
Eligibility for student licence
Student: any student qualifies from the age of five years upwards, attending any school/college/university in full-time or part-time education, or attending courses that award qualifications recogn ised by the UK Department of Education and Employment or the Irish Department of Education
Parent: parents who have children in the above category (students), can purchase on their behalf and qualify for Student Licences, following the same registration procedures as defined for students.
Teacher: teachers who are employed full-time or part-time in any school/college/university qualify.
