I have some mp3 files on a CD rom. However I cannot get them to appear in my media player "library" list. I can however right click them and add them to a play list. So my question is how do I get them to sit along side my other mp3's?

i think library list is hard drive based, so prolly need to dump them on drive somewhere, you could add them and then save a playlist.
